I don’t know if I’m cut out for comics. I mean, this comic was originally about a dog being naked in a bar (hence the yellow dog butt) but… see, did you see what I just did? I said “butt” again.

Every now and then, you gotta show your computer who’s boss. I once maliciously shoved my Macbook Pro off a bunk bed, and ever since, it’s succumbed to my every demand. Also, the CD drive doesn’t work anymore.

You might think this comic is an awkward attempt at office humor. But actually it’s the only situation I could think of that involved an ogre wearing a bolo tie. I just really wanted to draw an ogre wearing a bolo tie.

What can I say about this great day? Well, it sucks, because my fiancé is in Africa and now I have to eat an entire ice cream cake by myself. Wait a second… that doesn’t sound half bad. Happy Valentine’s Day!

I heard on NPR that the major record labels are going to stop producing CDs. I think the joke here is that they’re still called “record labels.”

It was nice visiting Knoxville for the holidays. Catching up with old friends, I told them about Ruth & Nail, and they noted the comic lineage in my family (my dad is also a comic artist). My childhood friend Thomas struggled to remember a figure of speech, which sounded something like this: “The tree doesn’t fall far from the… apple… the uh, apple… doesn’t fall far from… the… uh…”  Our friend Ramsey asked me to make a comic about this incident. So I did. Sort of.

Just a guess, but Santa probably makes a bad judgment call every once in a while.
